November was pretty eventful. At the beginning of the month, my mom visited New York City with a couple friends. I played tourist with them a little, visiting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island one day. The real occasion for their visit was seeing Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway, which was incredible!

Later on in the month, we went to a wine tasting event at the Long Island Aquarium for Tia’s cousin’s birthday. I also went back to Maine to visit my family for Thanksgiving, which was nice. The week after that I went to my first NFL football game with Tia and some of her family. We saw the Patriots defeat the Jets, which was a satisfying day.

And just like that it was December, which has flown by even faster, as evidenced by the lateness of this review. For the sake of time and my upcoming December and Annual reviews, this review will be a tad brief. I’m also not including correlations, as at this point they’ll reflect December’s data as well so they aren’t too meaningful for November.

November’s Focus

  1. Decide if we’re renewing our apartment lease
Ultimately decided to renew our lease for one year, despite the increase. We’ll see what happens next time the renewal comes around but after a brief look at what’s available, looks like the whole neighborhood went up about $100/mo. Classic NYC, I guess.

  2. Finish most Christmas shopping
I managed most of my shopping before December started. Not quite on Black Friday but more than half my shopping was done, so I’m counting it.

I’m skipping the December’s focus section since I’ve gotten to this so late, but I mostly spent the month just relaxing. I had the whole week of Christmas off, giving me 9 straight days with no work, which has been really nice. I spent time thinking about my annual review, and some goal setting for 2019. More to come!
